Eagle’s Rest is the perfect location for family and friends to relax and enjoy each other. It’s here where you can be treated to luxury and simplicity. It has a variety of activities to offer you, to complete your relaxing or adventurous break away. We have the following to offer our booked in guests:

The Restaurant

We offer Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner either inside or outside, with a beautiful view where you can watch the wildlife from your table, with friendly staff ready to serve you. With our well trained chefs, it’s our mission to ensure the best quality meals. Our breakfast and dinner would be set out on a buffet style, so each guest can enjoy the food according to their liking.

Each day at 16:00 pm we offer coffee and home baked treats for guest to enjoy. (All meals must be booked in advance either via email or at reception.)

The Pool Area

With our beautiful decking and relaxing characteristics, you would want to enjoy the pool all day long. Just a few meters from the pool area is a waterhole for wild animals and you can enjoy their presence from where you are relaxing. It’s here where you can be served and just relax in the Namibian sun. Children must be supervised by parents or a care taker.

Family Rooms

Our Family units is perfect for a small family looking for a relaxing Namibian holiday. Each unit has two bedrooms, one bathroom, small equipped kitchen and luxury relaxing area. The family units can be used for self-catering, DBB or BB. The units are also equipped with a nice BBQ area, stocked with our Namibian firewood.

Elegant Rooms

The Elegant Rooms are for those who would like to enjoy the luxury of Africa. Each room has a small mini fridge for personal use, air-con and mosquito net. You have a very big private bathroom and your own little porch to enjoy.

Camping

Our large spacious campsites are perfect for any adventure seeking guest, as each one is laid out with the perfect view and shades. Enjoy the natural sunset and evening breeze as you sip on an Namibian beer.

Mountain Lodge Luxury, View, and Privacy

Namibia’s beauty and charm can truly be captured from the view at the mountain lodge. This small intimate lodge offers 5 separate, super king bed chalets, each with its own private view, mini bar, air-conditioning and en-suite bathroom.This lodge reflects a modern colonial style with amazing panoramic views, with sunsets that takes your breath away. From the Mountain Lodge, one can spot the Waterberg Plateau and Omataku mountain range. The Mountain lodge is 8km from the main gate and guest must report at the Eagle’s Rest reception. The Nest Self-Catering Holiday

The Nest is a fully equipped Self-Catering Holiday Cottage, situated privately in the bush-area about 3.5km from the main lodge (Eagles Rest)An illuminated waterhole makes sure you won’t miss the thirsty wildlife through the night and you can enjoy the beautiful bird life around this waterhole. This self-catering unit provides sleeping facilities for up to 12 people, 3 spacious bedrooms with double or twin beds and two sleeper couches per room. With an open-plan kitchen and lounge. Ideal accommodation for a group of friends or a family. A cozy swimming pool with a BBQ area, surrounded by big trees gives you the refreshing relaxation you need after a long, warm African day.All guest must check in at the main lodge and get direction to the Nest. No self-driving is allowed. Game drives can also be booked at reception.

Activities

Horseback riding

Experience nature at your feet with this adventurous activity. Our horses are specially trained by our professionals and you will get to experience Namibian nature. Our horseback riding is suitable for beginners and older children. Your horseback experience will be about one hour, with our guide. On your trip you will receive homemade snacks and water.Bookings can be made in advance or upon check-in. Maximum 4 pax per trip.

Ombu Village tours

With this culture rich activity you can expect the following: You will be transported with Otjiwa guides and vechiles to the Ombu Village location. Here you will be greeted with the friendly staff of the Ombu Village. They will take you through a historical tour from how architecture, culture and traditions formed during the centuries. You will learn about their believe systems, customs and traditions, marriage and economic systems. Guest are encouraged to engage, touch and feel during the tour. This activity includes experiencing some of the following: Milk churningMilking cowsHoly fire ritualsDressing in traditional dresses

Cycling

We offer guided cycling to guest that would love to experience nature directly. We do not offer bicycles to rent, guest would have to bring their own gear. A minimum of two cyclists are needed for this activity. It’s important to pre-book this activity.

Taking time out of each day to relax and renew is essential for living well. Come and enjoy what our Pure Spa has to offer. Leave your Namibian trip feeling relax and refilled with energy. We offer the following treatments to take you on an relaxation journey: 1. Sole Survival (Relaxing foot and lower leg massage)- 30min2. Hand Ritual (Feel renewed with a relaxing arm & hand treatment) - 30min3. Otjiwa Escape (Escape with a deep neck & back massage) - 40min4. Glow Exfoliation (Full body exfoliating treatment)- 60min5. Sundowner Game Drive

You can expect to see most of the game that Otjiwa has to offer. Ranging from the national small Springbok to our biggest White Rhino. The sundowner game drives are about 2 hours long, where you will pass a few of the 22 water dams, each with its own beauty and natural bird habitats. At the end of your sundowner game drive you will be taken to one of the hills on the private reserve, where your eyes can feast on Namibia’s famous sunsets, while enjoying a picnic basket with some refreshments. (*Picnic basket only included in the SUNDOWNER game drive, not the normal game drive)

Game Walk

With all that Otjiwa has to offer, you can definitely enjoy it on foot. From the smallest insects to the largest antelope, walking through nature will definitely show you all its secrets. With our guides knowing nature like the back of their hands, they can tell you all there is to know about the Namibian wildlife.

Rhino Tracking

With Rhino tracking we have a well-trained guide that tracks the Rhino’s by vehicle and then once spotted, the guide will take you closer on foot. If you are looking for an adrenaline rush experience, this is definitely it. Coming up close to such a spectacular animal will truly let the blood rush through your veins.

Night Drive

With this activity you are more likely to find small predators and night animals. At night all the shy and small predators will come out, and maybe even a large leopard will show its appearance. Night drives will take place after dinner and with a cozy blanket and the fresh Namibian air, you can be sure to enjoy this outing.

Weddings

Otjiwa Safari Lodge has the perfect facilities for special events. Whether it is a wedding or business conference, we can accommodate your needs. Our large wedding hall has the perfect characteristics in order to host your dream wedding. We can host up to 120 persons. For weddings, please book in advance and contact the Manager. Otjiwa Safari Lodge also has the perfect facilities for your business event. We can host from 10 - 200 pax for your conference. Our focus is to create a comfortable area where you and your business partners can focus on your work, while we take care of everything else.
